Some people think that Islam is entered a state of crisis.
Others go even further and rank Islam to religions of Middle Ages.
There are people who criticize women's rights in Islam and see some interpretation of this religion as danger for western way of living.
Of course there are points of criticism, these points should be looked in by concerned Muslims, but not in Islam.
For this kind of generalisation, I can give below terms as explanation:
Arrogance, disrespect, ignorance are items which spring to my mind for this generalization.
It is a pitty that few take trouble to learn from others, as Goethe did it:
Goethe wrote to Herder on July 1772:
I would pray as Moses in Quran: "O my Lord! Expand my breast for me. "(Taha, 25)
There are muslims, who legalise any violence in the name of Islam.
Haven't they seen below statement in Quran or ignored it:
And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits,
surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits.(Quran: al-Baqara 2/190).
Of course there are many, who consider Islam:
as explanation of their existence, as illumination of their soul and morality,
as a way of peaceful transition to other world. Words of All in Sura Nur:
Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth; a likeness of His light is as a niche in which is a lamp, the lamp is in a glass, (and) the glass is as it were a brightly shining star, lit from a blessed olive-tree, neither eastern nor western, the oil whereof almost gives light though fire touch it not-- light upon light-- Allah guides to His light whom He pleases, and Allah sets forth parables for men, and Allah is Cognizant of all things.
I'm grateful to Allah to belong to the last category. The question, why some people misconceive Quran and Mohammad (s), is interesting issue for me.
